Where can get free music downloads for my PC? Music that doesn’t skip and won’t bring a virus?
I’m trying to download some songs to my laptop and everything that i’ve tried the music either skips or tries o bring a virus. Please help!

Legal websites pay fees to the performing rights society (a portion of which filters down to the artist as royalties) in order to comply with copyright law (singers do not sing for fun, it is their job and they expect to earn money from their job).
Therefore legal websites such as iTunes (99 cents per song) have to charge simply to recover their costs.
Download free music at your own risk.

You can’t. Music and video files you download by torrent (torrent programs or any other peer to peer program, like Linewire, Bearshare, etc.) are ripped from the CDs or DVDs by users like you. Some of them don’t know what they’re doing, and you get music that skipe, videos that pixelate or other problems. Some of them, having been ripped on virus-infected computers, have viruses in them. Some people just rename a virus to a song or video filename for the "fun" of knowing that they’re damaging other people’s computers.
The ONLY way to guarantee that you get good files with no viruses is to buy them. The ONLY way to get free ones (if the artists aren’t making them available for free – which usually means an unknown artist) is to accept that you may damage, or even destroy, your computer. AND – if you’re caught, your provider will shut off your internet service and blackball you (no one else will give you internet service). You may get a warning or two – or you may not, it’s up to your provider. (They’re under no legal obligation to maintain your account.)
Limewire (and other torrent programs) aren’t illegal, any more than a kitchen knife is. Downloading copyrighted content you don’t have the right to download is (like using the knife to kill someone is).

Limewire but it is illeagel. And the RIAA is really cracking down on people who are downloading free music from sites like these.

As for downloading music, Limewire is usually the best bet, or in larger packs called Torrents.
This is usually not illegal, as it is a peer-to-peer connection (depending on your country of origin). Music downloading is perfectly acceptable in Canada.
However, the risk of viruses will always be present. If you have a system like Norton protecting your computer, it will usually detect and ‘kill’ a virus from Limewire mid-download.

That’s illigal for one, but you can try LimeWire (make sure you have Windows Live OneCare installed! It’ll catch the Viruses right away and remove them ebfore any harm can be done!)

Well there isn’t really a reliable source for free music downloads and it is illegal since the Artist won’t get paid for their work. The best, and cheapest way to get music downloads is through MP3Lingo.com. They offer unlimited music downloads for only a few bucks a month. It’s much cheaper than any other site I’ve came across and they are 100% legal paying the artist for their hard work in making music you enjoy. They also have just about every song in every genre. Check them out at http://www.mp3lingo.com when you get a chance.

I strongly recommend http://www.hobbylazy.com . It is the best music download site ever, in my opinion. Because it is absolutely free…. free listening online, free download, free register…. virus free, spam free, malware free, and you don’t need any software to download it. In order to download it, please register and activate first.
