Teenagers and kids are especially listening to lots of music. Yet, what is it that teenagers are spending all their time listening to? If you think about it, music really does affect us. If you pop in a peppy CD, you’ll start to feel more energized. If you put in a dreary song, you’ll be more depressed. The tone of the music affects us as does the lyrics. Statistics show that words affect us, especially words that are repeated. Listening to crude concepts or foul language constantly has a negative influence on listeners that can be difficult to undo.

The other problem with the music-obsessed generation is their hearing is slowly going down. Having powerful amps and loud headphones is slowly eroding their hearing. If the volume is not kept in check, these people might be faced with hearing problems later on in life. Parents need to be aware of these things and protect their children. Music certainly isn’t bad, it just needs to be monitored. If you are going to protect your children from music you should protect them in the home as well.
