After a brief tour through the USA and Canada this past winter, Lil Wayne is back on the circuit again with his Americas Most Wanted Music Festival tour.
The Young Money production began its tour run in Scranton, Pennsylvania at the Toyota Pavilion on Monday July 27th. Among the headliners in addition to Lil Wayne, are Nicki Minaj, Young Jeezy, Jeremih , Soulja Boy and Drake, a rising young rapper. The tour will run from July 27th until September 6th and covers dozens of major cities in the US as well as performing at two Canadian venues, one in Vancouver, British Columbia and the second in Edmonton, Alberta.

Nicki Minaj will be promoting her mix tape, ‘Beam Me Up Scotty’ and says she is looking forward to getting back on the road with her Young Money family. Drake was expected to give a sneak peek of a few of his tracks from his anticipated debut album, ‘Thank Me Later,’ but that may be put on hold due to a recent knee injury. He hopes that the intensive acupuncture treatments he has been getting and with the help of a knee brace, he may be able to get on stage at least a few times during the tour. Drake felt that even if he travels with the tour, he can at least show that he is there for the rest of them for support. He was to perform a 30 minute set of his own as part of the show but he feels he may have to cut his stage time.
According to reports from the opening night in Scranton the tour kicked off with a bang leaving the fans in the PA town ready for and wanting more. Jeremih and Pleasure P started off the show with their sexy sultry tunes followed up by Soulja Boy with loads of energy setting the mood for the remainder of the night. The ladies in the crowd raised their voices to sing along when ‘Kiss Me through the Phone’ began to play, but the ultimate show stopper for Soulja Boy was during ‘Turn My Swag On’, when he began tossing $100 bills to the fans in the audience!
Young Jeezy kept up the crowds enthusiasm and his street team handed out items like towels and stickers to promote his upcoming LP. Then it was time for the headliner, Lil Wayne to come alive on stage, and that he did. The fans stood on seats and armrests of their chairs to have the best view possible when Lil Wayne appeared on stage. A large compliment of singers performed that evening and the entire family was onstage for the final song, ‘My Girl’ with the audience singing along.
This sounds like a concert that fans will not want to miss; so be sure to check you favorite ticket distributor and get the dates that they will be in the city near you. The show promises not to disappoint and will leave you wanting more and more and more!

FOR DECADES, metal guitarists have favored Ibanez guitars for their flat fretboard, greasy-fast playability and modernized double locking tremolos. But for a guitar to appeal to devoted metalists, it must do more than play like the devil; it also has to look the part, as well.
After the success of the mildly radical Iceman guitar, Ibanez was convinced that the time was right to build a truly outrageous instrument. The new Xiphos is the company’s first guitar specifically built for hardcore and metal players. The Xiphos Ibanez electric guitar takes its name from the brutally effective double-edged sword used by Greek and Spartan soldiers, and true to form, it delivers notes with surgical precision. It is one of the fastest guitars in the Ibanez line, and its specially selected DiMarzio D Activator pickups give it a truly demonic edge.
THE CHALLENGE FOR Ibanez’s electric guitar designers was to create a guitar shape that was incredibly aggressive without giving up any of Ibanez’s famous comfort and playability. They achieved this by building the guitar around a five-piece maple Wizard II neck-through design. This rock-hard centerpiece creates enormous sustain, and because the bridge is mounted in this same dense plank, note definition and clarity are maximized. The remainder of the radical X-shaped body is made from mahogany, which adds warmth and depth to the maple’s bright core. Although the Xiphos’ long beveled points may look unwieldy, the guitar is surprisingly lightweight and superbly balanced.
An Ibanez electric guitar this wild would not be complete with an off-the shelf finish. So Ibanez chose to cover the Xiphos in a sparkling color-shifting paint that they call their Chameleon finish. As you move the guitar, its finish appears to quickly change colors, like an alien cyber skin. The Wizard II’s neck shape is thin but not squared, and its somewhat rounded feel is enhanced by the thick Chameleon finish. The fl at fretboard and jumbo frets produce Ibanez’s trademark feel. Only a light touch is required to sound a note, and the action is low and level. This style of neck is purpose built for the player that wants to play fast, sweep through the strings, use two-handed techniques and move across the board in a nonlinear fashion. The Xiphos Ibanez Electric Guitars feature Ibanez’s Edge III double-locking tremolo. One of the company’s most advanced Floyd Rose-derived bridges, it boasts easy tuning adjustment and a very unobtrusive profile. Its tone is very neutral, and it is certainly capable of performing any whammy trick you can imagine. The Ibanez electric guitars new weapon may be the first production guitar to feature DiMarzio’s brand-new D Activator pickups as original equipment. They are designed to accurately deliver the same resonant peaks, long sustain and tantalizing harmonics found in today’s hottest active pickups. Being passive, they have organic tone and natural response.
IF A RAZOR blade was musical, it would be the Xiphos. Its acoustic clarity and sharp definition mix perfectly with the DiMarzios’ rich output and harmonic enhancements. Plugged straight into a Marshall JVM, the Xiphos delivered a very Zakk-like tone. The DiMarzio’s excited harmonics made chords sound enormous, almost as if I was using a chorus. But the punch from the Xiphos’ maple core pushed notes right through the Marshall on single note attacks. Even when I played at top speed, every note was clear and distinct. Staccato blasts, especially, cut the air like a machine-gun’s rattle, while properly picked sweeps sounded like alternate-picked runs.
We tested the Xiphos’ ability to produce clean tones with my modified Mesa RoadKing. In no time, I was finger picking student exercises and recalling my favorite etudes, as if the Xiphos was a fine classical guitar. Even though the DiMarzios are built to sound like active pickups, their passive design ensures a warm response.
The Bottom Line Is
WITH ITS FIVE-PIECE Wizard II neck, Ninja-weapon body, double-locking Edge III trem and DiMarzio D Activator pickups, the Xiphos Ibanez Electric Guitars are one of the most aggressive guitars on the planet. Hardcore ax players may try this guitar because of its hot looks, but they’ll buy it because of its lightning-fast playability and blowtorch tones.

Night of the Generals: A WW2 whodunit, movie has potential although gets lost in gloomy script, and inanimate behaviors. It is simply a dud. Cast includes Peter O’Toole, Omar Sharif, Tom Courtenay, Donald Pleasence, Joanna Pettet, and Christopher Plummer. (148 minutes, 1967)
Across the Pacific: This is a WWII spy film which leads us to Panama as two spies engage in a cat and mouse chase. Humphrey Bogart, Mary Astor, Sydney Greenstreet, and Victor Sen Y ung head the cast. (1942 Spy-Drama directed by John Huston)
Ghost: Encountering a thief in a dark alley, Sam is shot and killed. In the form of a ghost Sam stays close to the love of his life, Mary. He is unable to communicate with her, but watches her live on. He soon realizes that his death was no accident, and that Mary is now in danger. He uses a fake psychic to communicate with Mary and try to save her life.
Rollerball: Careless Klein follows his high school football teammate (LL Cool J) to a Middle Eastern nation to play roller ball. The film only comes to life near the end with some good songs, containing one by Spade Cooley. Cast includes Chris Klein, Jean Reno, LL Cool J, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos, Naveen Andrews, Oleg Taktarov, David Hemblen, and Paul Heyman. (98 minutes, 2002)
Alexander: Lumbering historical myth in regards to the life of Alexander the Awesome, as dictated some years after his downfall by Ptolemy. Try to investigate the numerous clashes-from the minute of his birth onward-that conditioned this fabled fighter sheds extremely little light and makes one wish the elephants who assault in a climactic scene could do their poorest. 8 1/2: (1963-Italian) 135 Fellini’s exclusive film casts Mastroianni as a filmmaker trying to create a new venture, among regular visions and numerous subplots. 8 ‘ is a long, perplexing, however captivating film that is full of artistic and technical wizardry. He he hired to take out an attractive woman who is in dept with the mob. 4 well-conditioned, well-played characters containing Boyle’s gloomy mobster and Craven’s dimwit companion-don’t count quite make this a hit. Cast includes Anthony LaPaglia, Mimi Rogers, Peter Boyle, Matt Craven, and Joseph Maher. (100 minutes, 1994)
The Big Shakedown: Inconsequential story where we see Davis denie spouse Farrell while he joins mobster Cortez in counterfeiting cosmetics and other products, often with dire consequences to the buyers. Cast includes Bette Davis, Ricardo Cortez, Glenda Farrell, Charles Farrell, and Adrian Morris. (64 minutes, 1934)
My Son John: Archetypal apple-pie parents (Hayes, Jagger) suspect their child (Stroller) of being a communist in this reactionary period piece. DramaticalIy overwrought, however this film is fascinating as a social history. Stroller (who’s brilliant) died before film was completed. Cast includes Helen Hayes, Robert Stroller, Dean Jagger, Van Heflin, Frank McHugh, and Richard Jaeckel. (122 minutes, 1952)
Paddy: Irish lover Cavern tries to shuffle differed sensual confronts with uninspired home life in typical comedy-drama. Cast includes Milo O’Shea, Des Cavern, Dearbhla Molloy, Judy Cornwell, and Donald LeBlanc (97 minutes, 1970)
The Plot against Harry: Entertaining, perceptive look at N.Y.C. life in reference to an aging mobster just sprung from jail, who finds the old guard changing, and his life unravelling. They must stop the religious sect attempting to free this child named the “Brotherhood of Rest.” Cast includes Donald Pleasence, Lisa Blount, Jameson Parker, Victor Wong, Dennis Dun, Susan Blanchard, Anne Howard and Alice Cooper Panavision. Sugarbaby: Its love at first sighty for fat mortuary attendant Sagebrecht and subway train driver Swig in this droll romantic satire. Actors and tale are oftbeat, although the avant-garde lighting outcomes and camcorder movements by cinematographer Johanna Heer become irritating. Cast includes Marianne Sagebrecht and Eisi Swig. (87 minutes, 1985)

Metropolis: Classic silent film fantasy of futuristic city and its mechanized civilization, with upperclass youthful guy leaving behind his life of luxury to join overpowered employees in revolt. Cast includes Brigitte Helm, Alfred Abel, Gustav Froelich, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, and Fritz Rasp. (124 minutes, 1927)
Rhinoceros: Eugene Ionesco entry in “Show of the Ludicrous” makes remorseful shift from the stage to the big screen as sales rep Crazier declines to comply by turning into a mess. The Little Thief: So-so personality picture of the title lass, a disassociated, amoral adolescent floating thiough life in postwar France. If she comes off as a girl Antoine Doinel, it’s since the original tale was cowritten by Francois Truffuut, who was allegedly preparing to film this at the time of his demise. Just a Little Harmless Sex: After a spouse throws her hushand out of the home (because he picked up a hooker one day) their matrimony is put in emergency mode. She hails her lady friends together for guidance, and he does the identical with the gentlemen. Then they all unite at a local club. This film is a somewhat amusing, low cost romantic comedy with an extremely desirable cast. Cast includes Alison Eastwood, Lauren Hutton, Kimberly Williams, Jonathan Silverman, Jessica Lundy, Rachel Hunter, and William Ragsdale. (98 minutes, 1999)
Buck Privates: Un-contemporary although engaging Army opus with Bud and Lou inadvertently registering.
