Electronic Drum Sets

Monday, May 9th, 2011

Drum sets are crucial for most bands, because the drum set acts as the centerpiece, the core, if you will, of the whole performance, acting both as a physical center of the band, and as the proverbial foundation which the other band members follow. Drumming is an art form that requires very good hand-eye coordination to pull off perfectly, but getting a traditional drum set to practice on can be a problem for both kids and adults, due to the large size and loud sound. Good thing that a Yamaha electronic drum set could be an alternative.

Traditional drum kits take up lots of space, and are too bulky to move around when needed. In addition to this, the sound made when the drums are struck can’t be lessened without sacrificing the quality. And this can be a big problem when it comes to the parents, neighbors, and the landlord.

An electronic kit is a viable options because the electronic pads don’t themselves produce sound when struck, instead mimicking the sound of the actual drum in an electronic, digital manner. The biggest advantage to this feature is that the volume of the sound produced can then be regulated, and can be isolated to be played only on speakers, or even headphones. This eliminates the problem of the sound going everywhere, and disturbing the people around the drummer.

In addition to all of these, modern electronic drum kits have been developed enough so that, not only do they now mimic the sound of actual drums almost perfectly, but they can also be connected to a home computer, allowing recording to be easy and convenient. This is perfect for amateurs looking to practice the art, but can’t afford traditional sound recording and editing equipment. An electronic kit is absolutely perfect for kids, students, amateur drummers looking to enjoy drumming, and people who absolutely have no space whatsoever to spare for a traditional kit.

We now have a lot of electronic drum kits readily available for anyone. The Yamaha DTXpress IV special electronic drum set, for instance, is very popular. However, there are many other brands and kinds out there, which will make sure that anyone and everyone will have an electronic drum setup suited for them.

The Acoustic Guitar Is Your Golden Ticket To Compelling Musical And Emotional Expression

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

There are several different things that can elicit a tremendous amount of pleasure in human beings that goes way beyond logic and linear thinking. Eating a delicious meal, making love with a supportive and attentive partner, or watching a child take his or her first steps to name a few.

There is one activity that can at once bring immense amounts of pleasure to many people at once, from many different backgrounds. What I’m referring to, of course, is the awesome power of music to capture and lead a crowd’s imagination away from the normal worries of everyday life and toward a realm of limitless possibility.

Since the dawn of time people have created instruments from the raw elements of their surroundings. Animal bones, rocks, strings fashioned out of various elements have all worked their way into historical instruments.

Today’s society is no different. We are captivated and hypnotically mesmerized by someone who is skilled at playing music. And of all the instruments around today, there is one that is at once the most accessible, and arguably the most influential to the average person on the street: The acoustic guitar.

If you have never taken an acoustic guitar lesson, then you are missing out on a great opportunity to express yourself in a way that is simply impossible to do with words alone. With a guitar, it is easy enough to learn, yet intricate enough to create the most complex of sounds, that it is obviously the most common choice of all beginning musicians. It’s like, it’s portable, and you don’t need anybody backing you up with other instruments.

If you’ve ever had a desire to learn the acoustic guitar, or take an acoustic guitar lesson, there’s never been an easier time in history. Those that have taken the first step know the incredible pleasure and power that comes with learning how to play the acoustic guitar.

With an acoustic guitar lesson you’ll learn a solo guitar lesson

Boy Bands In Music

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

The Choirboys: The original line-up of the group was made of Patrick Aspbury (born 9 January 1993) of Chelmsford, Eskircke Francis Benedict “Ben” Inman (born 19 March 1993) from Yorkshire and Charles John “CJ” Porter-Thaw (born 11 December 1994) from Sheffield. Both Aspbury and Porter-Thaw were members of Ely Cathedral choir and Inman was a member of the Southwell Minster choir. In the Summer of 2005, they were selected from cathedral choristers around the UK for a recording contract with Universal Classics and Jazz, and released their self-titled first album in November of that same year. After an intensive promotional tour of TV and radio stations, they performed at several events, including the Southwell Minster St. Cecilia Concert, the Ely Cathedral May Day Concert and charity concerts in major London venues such as the Royal Albert Hall. Over time the boy’s voices chaged and they had to be replaced in order to keep the right sound. The first trio have since moved on and retired from being trebles at their respective cathedrals.

Boyz II Men: Boyz II Men is an American Contemporary Rhythm and Blues vocal group best known for emotional ballads and complex, intricate a capella harmonies. Based on record sales, Boyz II Men is the most successful R and B male vocal group of all time, having sold more than sixty million albums worldwide. In the 1990′s, Boyz II Men found fame on Motown Records as a quartet, but currently the group is a trio signed to Decca Records, with members Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris (no relation), and Shawn Stockman. The group won four Grammy Awards in the 1990′s, and the trio was nominated for two Grammies in 2009.

D-Side: An Irish boyband. Established in 2001, by twins doctor and dentist Rory and Eoghan Mac Sweeney they were signed to Edel records. Edel brought in top UK manager Kim Glover to manage the band after her success with New Kids on the Block, Ant and Dec, (as PJ and Duncan), B*Witched and Let Loose. Glover secured their entry into Japan getting them a signed with Avex and worked with them until the end of 2004. They had some success in Japan, the United Kingdom, and Europe, winning Best New Band Award at the Smash Hits Tour in 2002. The band was originally made up of five members, Ryan O’Rian, Shane Creevey, Derek Moran, Damien Bowe and Dane guiden, but became a threesome, however, when Damien and Dane both left for personal reasons.

ATL: The four members of ATL – vocalists Tre, Will, L-Rock, and rapper Danger, came together after being chosen though an Atlanta-area talent search. Where previous R and B groups (112, Jagged Edge) had crossed over into hip-hop, by either featuring a guest rapper, or appearing on someone else’s album, ATL were a self-contained R and B/hip-hop/fusion band. The quartet enlisted R. Kelly to produce their dbut single, “Calling All Girls,” which was released in 2003.

2Be3: 2Be3 was formed in 1996 and comprised three childhood friends from Longjumeau (a suburb of Paris): Filip Nikolic, Adel Kachermi and Frank Delay. Inspired by English bands like Take That and Worlds Apart, the group produced 3 studio albums and various compilations before disbanding in 2001. The name 2Be3 was a pun on the English language phrases to be free (in French, “tre libre”) and to be three (“tre trois”). Hence the band’s name was pronounced in English (“Two Be Three”) rather than French (“Deux Be Trois”)

183 Club: 183 Club is a Taiwanese boyband managed by Jungiery. In other words, 183 Club is part of J-Star. Originally they were called “183 Yu Le Bu,” meaning “183 Entertainment Group,” but it was later decided that the name should be shortened to what it is now: 183 Club. The average height of the original five members combined together is roughly 183cm, hence the group name 183 Club. However, it is true that only one member is actually 183cm tall: Johnny Yan, the former leader of 183 Club.

Terenzi and Bledsoe met future band mates Patrick King and Michael Johnson at an industry party. The four got together and after subsequent members joined and left (at one point they had 6 or 7 members total), settled on fifth member Michael Horn who Bledsoe had found through his vocal coach.

N Sync: Formed in Orlando, Florida in 1995 and launched in Germany by BMG Ariola Munich, ‘N Sync consisted of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick and became the third highest selling boyband of all-time (behind the Backstreet Boys and the New Kids On The Block). After heavily publicized legal battles with their former manager Lou Pearlman and former record label Sony BMG, the group’s second album No Strings Attached sold over one million copies in one day and 2.4 million copies in one week, giving it the highest first week album sales ever. In addition to a host of Grammy nominations, ‘N Sync has performed at the Academy Awards, the World Series, the Super Bowl and the Olympics, and sang or recorded with the likes of Elton John, Mandy Moore, Aerosmith, Mary J Blige, Britney Spears, Nelly, Michael Jackson, The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, and Gloria Estefan. The group also appeared as themselves on The Simpsons, in an episode entitled “New Kids on the Blecch”, which aired on February 25, 2001. The band are among the highest selling musical acts of the 2000s, and have emerged as one of the most acclaimed boy bands.

Triple 8: Triple 8, aka 888, were a British five-piece hip-hop style boy band signed to Polydor Records. Triple 8 were promoted as the British ‘N Sync and a rival to manufactured boy bands of the time, such as Westlife and A1.They had two hit singles: “Knockout” and “Give Me A Reason”, which charted at numbers eight and nine respectively. Their album, Heavy W8 was cancelled and the band subsequently parted company with their record label. The album has since leaked on the internet.
